Museum of Contemporary Craft exhibiting artist Mandy Greer, also featured in Handmade Nation, will show participants how to crochet – then she’ll make a sculpture out of the raw materials created. Bring yarn and fabric, new or reused, in all shades of blue, from very light to dark (but no navy, please!).

Visit Crafty Wonderland, Portland’s monthly art and craft extravaganza, featuring a rotating mix of 40 vendors and a DIY table where visitors can make free craft projects. April 5, find Faythe Levine selling and signing Handmade Nation books, booths with guests Kate Bingaman-Burt and Jill Bliss, as well as Susan Beal at the DIY table.

View original drawings by Kate Bingaman-Burt, illustrator of Handmade Nation: The Rise of D.I.Y. Craft, Art and Design, the companion book to the documentary by Faythe Levine. Bingaman-Burt currently resides in Portland, and is Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Portland State University.
