75 Gifts for 75 Years

BY NAMITA GUPTA WIGGERS

Produced in conjunction with 75 Gifts for 75 Years.

To celebrate the Museum’s 75th Anniversary and role as one of the nation’s oldest institutions dedicated to craft, collectors from the Pacific Northwest and beyond have generously donated and promised gifts to the Museum’s permanent collection. These gifts fill important gaps in the Museum’s work to document craft and its place in culture since 1937. Through this catalog the museum can offer gifts to the collection as teaching tools in the special learning environment we call “the museum.”

Museum of Contemporary Craft Founded in 1937, Museum of Contemporary Craft (MoCC) in partnership with Pacific Northwest College of Art is a vibrant center for investigation and dialogue that helps expand the definition and exploration of craft. Through dynamic exhibitions and provocative public programming, supported by the Museum’s collection and archives, the Museum advances the conversation on the role of craft and design in contemporary culture while at the same time honoring the history of the studio craft movement.
