GALLERY ARTIST TOUR
Thomas Orr
Thursday, October 23, 6:30 PM | The Gallery | Free

Thomas Orr, department head of ceramics at the Oregon College of Art and Craft, gives a walkthrough of his show in the Museum’s Gallery. Orr, a Vietnam War veteran, creates work based on his experiences, his new works paying tribute to those that survived the war. Through the tour, Orr will provide deeper meaning to his art and discuss how his work may fit into a private collection.

Education/Public Programs Manager Jessica Baldenhofer gives a tour of Manuf®actured. With a focus on interaction and closer looking, the tour provides an opportunity for visitors to engage in conversation on the exhibition.



DROP-IN TOURS
Weekly Museum Tours
Between 11 AM & 12:30 PM Wednesdays or between 1 & 2:30 PM Saturdays
Tours convene at the front desk | Free


Tours provide visitors with a guided exploration of the artwork on view, inspiring ongoing conversations in which expert, novice and curious visitors can all participate. Tours run approximately 45 minutes.

Private Group Exhibition Tours
By appointment only | $50 for up to 15 people, $2 for each additional person

Exhibition tours provide visitors with a guided exploration of the artwork on view, inspiring ongoing conversations in which expert, novice and curious visitor can all participate.

Reservations are required a minimum of 2 weeks in advance for guided tours. Please provide the requested date and time, contact name, contact information and any requests or concerns, including specific exhibitions you would like to tour, physical issues, etc.



K-12 SCHOOL TOURS
CraftKids
By appointment only | $50 for up to 15 students; $2 for each additional student

CraftKids asks students to explore the interplay between form and function in craft through carefully looking at the Museum’s collection and temporary exhibitions. Through a 60-minute session, students are introduced to craft by considering the role it plays in their daily lives. Tours are inquiry- and discussion-based, guiding students as they learn to look at objects in new and meaningful ways. Thematic tours focus on materials, process, identity in craft, positive and negative space, and more.
